Hajj 2019: Kaduna begin biometric data capture of intending pilgrims
Hajj Reporters
Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board said it will commence
biometric registration and data capture exercise for intending pilgrims for the
2019 hajj in the state.
The biometric registration is perquisite for the issuance of
visa to Saudi Arabia as introduced by the Saudi Arabian government
and failure to participate would disqualify the intending pilgrim from
performing the hajj.
A statement by the spokesperson of the board, Yunusa Muhammad
Abdullahi, disclosed that intending pilgrims from Igabi and Kaduna South Local
Government Areas are the first set of pilgrims to be captured, while those from
other local governments would follow.
He stated that all intending pilgrims who have made deposit
payment for this year’s hajj would be captured and advised other intending
pilgrims to approach the board before the end of the exercise.
He revealed that the Board has already registered more than
2,000 intending pilgrims for this year’s hajj and the registration is
on-going.
A total of 6,636 hajj seats have been allocated to the state by
the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Abuja.
