2019: Kogi Hajj Commission can only get better – Chairman
The Chairman , Kogi State Hajj Commission
(KSHC), Sheikh Luqman Imam Abdullahi has assured that he would not renege in
his effort to continually improve in the proper management of general matters
pertaining to 2019 Hajj preparations.
Sheik Abdullahi who stated this in Lokoja on
Sunday while commenting on the recommendation he received from the
Chairman/Chief Executive Officer and management of National Hajj Commission of
Nigeria over his performance and renewal of KSHC license, said decentralisation
of the pilgrims’ screening as well as medical screening across the three
senatorial districts of the state was aimed at ensuring that all intending
pilgrims attended the exercise.
He stated that the commission would intensify
effort in pilgrims’ enlightenment on electronic and print media to make
the 2019 a huge success.
“We are not surprised by the commendation of
National Hajj Commission because we really prepared adequately for the 2018
hajj operation which was why our pilgrims were airlifted before any other state
and we will definitely repeat the same feat this year.
“We thank NAHCON for the commendation and I am
assuring them that this will spur us to put more effort on issues that concern
hajj operation in the state,” Sheik Abdullahi.
NAHCON had during 2018 Hajj commended the KSHC for its timely preparations that ultimately saw its pilgrims being first to be airlifted into and from Saudi Arabia.
