Akeredolu to return Hajj Camp ground to Muslims
Ondo
State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has pledged to return the erstwhile Hajj
camp to the Muslims.
The
site was converted to Ebola Village by the immediate past administration of Dr
Olusegun Mimiko.
Chairman
of the State Muslims Welfare Board (SMWB), Alhaji Khaleel Fawehinmi, broke the
news while receiving members of forum of Muslimah in Akure, the state capital.
Fawehinmi
told his guests that the governor had instructed the Secretary to the State
Government (SSG), Ifedayo Abegunde, and the Head of Service (HoS), Toyin
Akinkuotu, to return the Hajj camp to Muslims.
The
Islamic leader described Akeredolu as a “man of his word” whose love for Islam
and Muslims was unquantifiable.
He
advised Muslims in the Sunshine State to always pray for the administration to
help the socio-economic development of the state.
According
to him, his appointment as the Chairman of the Muslim Welfare Board was to
allow him serve the interest of Muslims.
Secretary
of the forum, Alhaja Hajarat Ambali, described the forum as a new generation of
Muslim women working with APC’s ideology to raise the bar of Islam and Muslim
women.
